Fill In the Verb Sentences – Thanksgiving

Fill in the Verb Sentences - Thanksgiving

This hands-on activity gets students thinking about a variety of verbs.  They love reaching into the bag and pulling out the game cards, which helps keep them engaged.  Once they have a card, they fill in a missing verb for the sentence.  Have the other students come up with different verbs that also make sense to really get their brains thinking.  You can play individually or as teams and can keep score if you choose.

  1. Joann,
The materials are all in a PDF file format. To open it, you will need Adobe Reader, which can be downloaded for free at: http://get.adobe.com/reader/

If you have already have Adobe Reader installed it may be related to your browser settings. Settings control if the PDF file is saved to your computer or opened in the browser in a new tab/window. Sometimes when the PDF is opened in the browser, the PDF opens in a browser window that is hidden by your current browser or in a tab other than the one you are viewing.

  2. I can see my middle schoolers having a blast with this….especially if we decide to put “wrong” , but school-friendly verbs in the sentences! I think I will let them do it!
