Valentine’s Day Game for Irregular Past Tense Verbs
These Valentine’s Day cards are just what you need to build receptive and expressive skills for irregular past tense verbs. With 40 Valentine’s Day themed sentences, your language therapy students will get plenty of practice!
To use the printable files, laminate the cards and let the students color in the heart next to the correct answer (receptive skills) or remove the choice half of the cards and have your students come up with the correct form of the verb that fills in the blank (expressive skills). To make it into a game, use the game board that is included. After answering correctly, the student moves their piece to the next space that matches the color of the heart on the sentence card or to the space with the picture that matches the one on the card…much like Candy Land.
Interactive Material: This material includes an interactive version that can be used in teletherapy. The students read the sentence and verb choices on the card and click on the correct irregular past tense verb. If correct, the heart will color in. This file can only be used in PowerPoint due to limitations in Google Slides. Make sure to use this file in slide show mode.
