Happy Thanksgiving

I would like to wish you a very happy Thanksgiving. This is the start of my family’s favorite time of year. We always look forward to visiting with family, continuing our holiday traditions, remembering past holiday stories, and creating new memories with those that are important to us.

I hope each of you have many things to be thankful for and are able to celebrate this holiday with the family and friends that are important to you.

The Survey Results Are In!

Thank you so much for the input you gave us through our survey.

Before I get to the results, there is something that I need to clarify. The ideas on our blog are, and will continue to be, FREE. Our printable therapy materials, however, are available for purchase (with the exception of those materials that are shared freely and posted under the Printables tab on our blog). We currently offer a subscription to sets of materials that are emailed monthly to our subscribers. The website we are considering would allow subscribers to access the materials online and would include new materials that are added monthly, as well as previously sent sets. Now for the survey results…

Many of you told us…

Budgets are extremely limited, and you would be paying out of your own pocket.
You would prefer a one-time annual payment.
You need materials for a wide range of ages, topics, and ability levels.
You still look for and need free ideas.

We listened…

There was enough interest in a membership website for materials that we are going to look further into developing one.
The cost would be comparable to our current subscription rate, and we would offer monthly and annual payment options if possible.
New materials would be added each month.
Therapy ideas will continue to be free on our blog.

Here at SpeechTherapyIdeas.com we are constantly working to bring you the ideas and materials you want for the best value possible. To do this, we need your input.

We are considering building a membership website. This website would give you unlimited access to all of our printable materials, including those already made and new ones we’ll continue to create each month.

Before we develop this, however, we need to make sure that it’s something that you’d want and make sure we can bring it to you at a very reasonable price. That’s where your input comes in.

Home Program Basic and Expansion Sets Coming Soon

This month’s basic and expansion sets will include LOTS of printable materials aimed at making home programs easy to put together. There will be calendars, printable cards, game boards, and other pages for a variety of commonly misarticulated sounds, as well as calendars for language activities. The basic set will be sent FREE of charge to those who are active on my email list at the time it is sent.

Also, make sure that we have an email address that will be active over the summer. If our emails bounce too many times, your email address automatically gets unsubscribed. We don’t want to lose contact with you, and you won’t want to miss the ideas and materials that we’ll be sending out this summer! Wow! Today, February 1st, 2010, marks one year since the launch of SpeechTherapyIdeas.com. My hopes for the website’s first year have been far surpassed. The website’s reach simply amazes me. The monthly traffic has grown tenfold, and it has been visited from 131 countries!

Thank you to those who have shared it with others and to those who have left comments and given me encouragement along the way.

Fun and Games in Therapy

The new school year has begun and I’m looking forward to a great year! Now that the stress of scheduling has started to decrease, I’m gearing up for fun. Don’t we all want to enjoy what we’re doing? Of course we do! The kids do too!

I am revving up my brain and searching everywhere for inspiration. I believe that children learn better when they are engaged, participating, and having fun. So, I’m kicking the therapy rut to the curb and will be trying new things, playing more games, and developing more materials. AND, I’m expecting amazing speech and language results!

The good news for you is that I’ll be sharing my ideas and materials along the way. I know that most of you are looking for quick, easy, fun ideas that don’t take a lot of time preparing. I’m right there with you.
