Combining Verbs in Winter Sentences

Combining Verbs in Winter SentencesHelp your students combine two sentences into one concise sentence by getting rid of the redundant subject and by combining the verbs.  The cut-apart sentence pieces help students physically manipulate sentences parts.  The worksheet can be used as a pre-test and post-test by cutting it in half, or it can be used for practice writing combined sentences.

This set of materials is focused on combining the verbs of two sentences.  For example, combine “Eva sat by a fire.” and “Eva read a book.” into “Eva sat by a fire and read a book.”  Included are sentence pieces to cut apart, a worksheet, and an answer sheet.
