Combining Sentences Without “And” – Pizza Theme

Combining Sentences Without "And" - Pizza ThemeCombining sentences without using the word “and” can be challenging for students until they have been explicitly taught how to do it. These pizza themed sentences give your students practice combining sentences by adding an adjective from one sentence to the other sentence.

Take these two sentences as an example:

  1. The girl is little.
  2. The girl is making a mess.

They can be combined by taking the adjective that describes syrup in the first sentence and using it in the second sentence.  The combined sentence would be:

The little girl is making a mess.

There are two worksheets that each have five sentence pairs to combine for a total of ten pairs of sentences. An answer sheet is also included.
