Squirrel Antonym Pairs

Squirrel Antonym Pairs

Make vocabulary learning fun with these squirrel and acorn antonym match-up cards! There are three difficulty levels included (indicated in the upper right-hand corner of the cards) so you can use this activity with a variety of your students.

Each level includes 30 antonym pairs. There is also a page of squirrel and acorn cards without words so that you can add your own.

There are multiple ways to use the cards. Here are a few ideas…

  1. Place all of the cards in the middle of the table for the students to take turns matching up.
  2. Pass out the squirrel cards to the students, place the acorns in the middle of the table, and have the students find the cards that match theirs.
  3. Place the cards upside-down and use them in a memory game for identification of correct pairs.  This can become an expressive language task if you have the students name the antonyms for the cards that they turn over that don’t match.
