Fill In the Verb Sentences for St. Patrick’s Day
Verb variety is the key to this activity/game. Students reach into a bag or bowl and pull out a game card. Then they have to fill in a missing verb to complete the sentence on the card. With the interactive version, verbs are provided in a word bank. The students can use those to see which make sense or can come up with their own verbs.
To play it as a competitive game, have the student or team complete the sentence with as many different verbs as possible, earning a point for each one. If you’d like, you can then allow the other students or team to get points for coming up with appropriate verbs not previously given. Bonus points can also be earned for using vivid verbs or correct subject/verb agreement.
You just may be surprised at how many creative verbs your students can come up with!
Interactive Material: This material includes an interactive version that can be used with your student(s) in person or during a teletherapy session. The file can be uploaded to Google Slides or opened in PowerPoint and shared with the student. In order to drag and drop the pieces, make sure you are in edit mode (NOT in presentation mode). If you are using PowerPoint, you’ll need to enable editing.
