Summer Analogy Cards
Word relationships can be particularly tricky for students with language disorders. You can use these analogy cards to help them “think through” these relationships. They can be used alone or with a game board. The cards have analogies that are written out in phrases instead of the usual format to make it easier for students. For example, “Shoes are to feet as hat is to __” is used instead of “shoes : feet :: hat : __”.
There are three levels of difficulty from the most basic analogies (e.g., “Happy is to laugh as sad is to __) to difficult ones (e.g., “Mammal is to lungs as fish is to __”). There are 24 analogy cards for each level for a total of 72 cards.
